Shakespeare at the Zoo: Romeo & Zooliet
Romeo & Zooliet is a family-friendly stage adaptation produced for the St. Louis Zoo, in partnership with the St. Louis Shakespeare Festival. Romeo and Zooliet tells the story of animals inside the Saint Louis Zoo performing their own production of Shakespeare’s “Romeo and Juliet.” In this animal–centered version, the Montagues are herbivores and the Capulets are carnivores. When they share the stage, a prairie dog and a grizzly bear form a surprising bond that unites the zoo.
